First Impression Of The Nokia N900 Smartphone

We now bring you a short first impression review of the Nokia N900. The unboxing experience is good, as there are a lot of goodies inside the box. This one comes with a whole lot of accessories, except a case for the device. They could have included one of those, considering the fact that this is worth 500 GBP/Euro!

Appearance
The appearance of this phone is neat. The hardware is decent too. It’s not by any means light and is surprisingly heavy to hold. No doubt, though, it is truly stylish. The slide mechanism and keys are good enough to make a nice first impression. The kickstand seems a little on the fickle side – it’s not very solid at all and that’s a disappointment.

The touchscreen is of a good, decent size. But the lack of a capacitive screen is sourly felt out here. The resistive screen simply doesn’t cut it.

User Interface
There will be a full review of the device shortly, but at first glance, the UI of the Nokia N900 seems to be just okay, with one taking some time to adjust to the menu and all. The four homescreens work well, though the animation factor here could have been better and smoother.

The app download process is not so fast as one hoped and there’s nothing rave-worthy about the other menus either.

Conclusion
This is only an initial opinion and might change by the time we go in for a full review. Maybe the product will be great once the OS is running more efficiently and all the bugs are fixed. Right now, though, it’s just about an okay smartphone.
