Nokia Has Started Shipping Its N900 Smartphone
Now Nokia has started shipping the Nokia N900 smartphone, its very latest mobile computer, which is based on the open source Maemo 5 software. The Nokia N900 will be on sale in retail outlets in November at a cost of EUR 500, not including sales taxes and subsidies.
The Nokia N900 is powered by an ARM Cortex-A8 processor and comes with up to 1GB of total application memory. This means that the user can treat this beauty just like they would work with their PCs, keeping several applications open at a time and so on. The interactive desktop can be easily customized as regards shortcuts, contacts and widgets. The Nokia N900 comes with a stunning 5MPx Carl Zeiss camera, so pics and video are absolutely stunning. SMS and IM facilities are wonderful too and users can sue multiple conversational windows simultaneously during chat.

The phone comes with 32GB internal storage, and up to a total of 48GB along with an external microSD slot. Developers can also port all apps to Qt’s supported platforms, which will also include Maemo 6 and Symbian platforms. The initial batch of Nokia N900 will be available in Europe, the Middle-East, Russia and North America.
